The first iteration of Hearshakes was created with a group of UArts students for their Spring Dance Series at The Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts earlier this year. Olivia Best, Lilia Cardosi, Meg Hasou, Ashleigh McGown, Lucienne Parker, Madison Platt, Kayla Ricketts, and Abigail Scaggs developed text and built puppets in addition to learning a 15-minute version of Hearshakes, full of improvisation, and character development and sweeping phrasework. Rehearsal Director and Sound Designer, kira shina, used their voices to develop the original sound score. Some of that you will hear within this expanded version of Heartshakes! This group of collaborators made this production possible. I learned just how Heartshakes become the vibrations that bring us back into sensation by being in process with these vibrant artists. I offer them my most sincere gratitude!

Heartshakes was made possible in part through an Artist Residency at University of the Arts. A huge thank you to Donna Faye Burchfield, Jen McGinn, Cameron Childs and Martha Chamberlain.
