Franklin Method is somatic practice that combines functional anatomy, imagery, and movement to explore how your body feels. Shannon has been a level 3 certified Franklin Method practitioner since 2009 and specializes in Franklin Method for Dance. This class combines Franklin Method and dance designed for any level mover. (Not sure if you're a mover... Don't worry, everybody who moves is a mover!) Variatiions can be made for all skill levels.
Class includes a mix of mindfulness, meditation, gentle movements, practices for improving your balance, strength and flexibility, free-movement/improvised movement, guided movement sequences, and an occasional dance party! Participants should have enough space to stand and stretch out into a big "X" safley. Shannon will offer modifications by using a chair or stool for folks who need suggestions. Guided rest and meditation can be done either lying down or in a chair as well.
